What is ISSIMI?

We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional client experience, building trust with our community, and promoting transparency with every transaction. What does "ISSIMI" mean?
The name ISSIMI, derived from the Italian language's superlative structure, reflects our high standards. This linguistic tribute to the exceptional is a reflection of our steadfast commitment to quality. By embodying the spirit of the 'best of the best', ISSIMI underlines our promise to offer a curated selection of the most remarkable collector cars from around the globe.
Selling
What vehicles does ISSIMI accept?
We specialize in modern supercars and classic sports cars but we are open to anything interesting - show us what you have.
What information do you need to sell my vehicle?
The more information the better - at a minimum, year, make, model, miles, VIN and recent service records. But if there is more to know about your car’s history, we would love to hear it.
What do you do to prepare my vehicle for sale?
When the vehicle arrives, we wash it, give it a thorough inspection and point out any recommended repairs - most of which we can carry out in house. Some repairs we recommend performing prior to a sale, some we will recommend to leave. We want to make sure your vehicle is presented in the best possible light. Then, it gets photographed and a detailed description is written prior to going live.
How does the auction process work once my vehicle is listed?
Once live on ISSIMI.com, your listing will be presented before serious, qualified enthusiasts and collectors across the globe. These buyers may then offer your full asking price or below, and if you choose to accept an offer, it will then become the starting price for a 72-hour, no-reserve auction. This ensures you get the highest possible outcome with your listing.
If additional bids yield a higher final hammer price than the auction starting price, ISSIMI will collect a performance fee of 15% of the difference between those two values.
Can I withdraw my vehicle after it has been listed?
No. If a car is withdrawn during the auction, you are subject to a $400 cancellation charge per our consignment agreement.
What happens if my listing does not get any offers?
With so many variables at play, it can be hard to set an asking price. We are constantly monitoring the listings as well as watching the current market to gather the most up to date pricing information. We suggest adjusting your asking price to garner more interest and can help you determine where you should adjust to.
What happens after someone wins the auction for my vehicle?
Leave the heavy lifting to us. When your car sells, we will reach out to the buyer and get all the necessary details and receive their payment. All you need to do is give us the signed title and your payment will be issued.
What fees do you charge?
We charge a seller’s premium of 5% of the final hammer price of the auction. This fee covers transportation to an ISSIMI facility, all of the vehicle preparation as well as all advertising and sales initiatives. When a sale is handled by ISSIMI, your car receives the same (if not better) treatment than most conventional dealers or auction houses, who routinely command premiums of 10-15% or more from a seller.
How long is my car under contract with ISSIMI when I agree to list it?
Your consignment agreement will specify how long your vehicle is exclusively for sale with us.
What happens if the car doesn’t sell at the end of my listing period?
You will have the option to receive your vehicle back or continue to advertise the vehicle on our platform.
Buying
What fees do you charge the buyer of a winning auction?
We charge a buyer’s premium of 2% of the final hammer price of the auction.
Can I view the vehicle in person before the auction ends?
Viewings can be arranged at one of our facilities prior to the close of auction. Contact us and we can schedule an appointment.
Are there reserve prices in your auctions?
Never. We find that the secret reserve price found in more traditional auction settings are detrimental to everyone. What is the point of bidding up a vehicle, with no idea when the seller will actually let the car go? Our platform functions more along the lines of how one buys a house - the seller sets an asking price and then potential buyers send offers to determine where the bidding begins. The seller then chooses the offer they are happy with and at this point, those who have previously made offers are alerted to what the current starting price is and the auction begins.
What happens if the seller accepts my starting bid offer, but someone else wins the live auction?
If the party who submitted the starting bid offer is not the final auction winner, they will receive 15% of the difference between the auction starting price and the final auction hammer price.
What are the bid increments for the auction?
1% increments rounded to the nearest hundredth. For example, a $100,000 car would mean the minimum bid is $1,000.
Can I set up an inspection for a vehicle I am interested in?
We welcome outside inspections. But to put buyers at ease, all of our cars are subject to a thorough inspection including paint meter readings and a road test prior to the auction going live - the results of which are available on the cars listing page. We stand behind every inspection.
Can I withdraw a bid that I placed?
No. To keep it fair for both the seller and other bidders, if you choose to withdraw from the auction, you will be charged the buyer’s premium of 2% of your bid.
How does transportation work if I live somewhere else?
ISSIMI routinely organizes domestic and international transport for buyers. We have a network of air, marine, and ground transporters that can get your new purchase from our warehouse to your front door safely and quickly. With our international presence, ISSIMI is familiar with overseas transport and are happy to help with all the necessary paperwork to make each transaction seamless.
How do we handle transaction paperwork after I win an auction?
Buying and selling cars is what we do - and we know that there can be a lot of paperwork associated with a transaction. Leave all of that to us.
Am I buying the vehicle from ISSIMI or a private party?
ISSIMI does not own any of the vehicles sold on our marketplace. All vehicles for sale are owned by individual collectors and are on consignment at an ISSIMI dealership. As the selling dealer we will fully manage each transaction, from all transfer paperwork, title, registration, payment, and logistics.
Is there a way to circumvent the auction process? What if I come in with a full price offer to do the deal immediately?
All listings on our platform must go through the full auction process to ensure a fair outcome for all parties involved.
