Significance
It’s difficult to characterize a $200,000 car as a good value, but given the performance it offers, Porsche’s Turbo S is exactly that. When the 991.2 generation of the Turbo S was introduced, it was the quickest 911 of all time, achieving this thanks to its massive power, but equally importantly, its ultra quick dual clutch transmission and all wheel drive system. The result is a car that accelerates to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, the same as the Bugatti Veyron. And of course, as a Porsche, the brakes and handling are next level, with 10 (!!)-piston front brake calipers and 1.04g of lateral acceleration. That the Turbo S is civilized, usable, seats four, and is relatively discreet adds further to its unique value proposition as a virtually unmatched combination of face-melting performance and genuine practicality.
