Significance
Eugenio Amos’ love for car really kicked off when, at age seven his father brought home a Giallo Ginestra Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution. Growing up in Italy, the excitement behind the Delta and Lancia’s World Rally Championship wins had always been present but having a rally car of their own in the garage was where the passion truly began. Over the following decades, Amos owned Delta Integrales of his own and even has one of the ultra rare Group B homologation Lancia Delta S4s, but he wanted to create his own version of the famed rally car that incorporated all of the elements he loves, with modern technology to make what is truly the ultimate Delta.
When this car- known as the Automobili Amos Delta Futurista- was first shown to the world in 2018, it drew praise from car enthusiasts everywhere. The concept of modernizing a classic shape has been carried out to varying degrees of success recently but the Futurista is one of the best implementations and has all the right elements to become a classic. Upon looking at the car, the first change you note is that the five door hatchback, has lost its two rear doors, an element which harkens back to the Delta S4 from Lancia’s Group B days. The fenders have much more aggressive flares than the original car but are done in the same style so as not to look out of place and in front, the redesigned grille was inspired by the Lancia Beta Montecarlo or 037 rally car and is all formed out of beautiful carbon fiber. Under the skin of the Futurista, Automobili Amos relies heavily on carbon fiber and aluminum to bring the weight of the car under 2,900lbs, increasing agility and handling over the original. The wheels were designed to have a turbofan look and the lights and hardware were all updated to modern technology while maintaining the classic style of that people desire in a Delta. Each Futurista starts as a Delta Integrale 16 Valve donor car to retain the Lancia DNA, but when you see both cars side by side, the changes are even more impressive.
Those changes are not all visual though, an entirely redesigned front suspension was put in place which is intended to reduce understeer while improving turn in and a fully integrated roll cage on the inside increases the chassis’ rigidity as well as the car’s safety. The engine has been tuned to produce more than 300 horsepower which is sent through a 5-speed manual gearbox to all four wheels. Automobili Amos has stated that they will only be building 20 Delta Futuristas and at this point every car has been spoken for.
About this vehicle
This example is chassis #9 in the series and it is one of the most beautifully outfitted examples. Painted in an understated shade of Ferrari Grigio Titanio Matte, the carbon fiber and subtle blue trim accents on the outside create a stunning contrast and enhance the overall design. The interior is upholstered in a fantastic blue Alcantara that harkens back to interiors found in some of the original Delta Evolutions and adds plenty of visual excitement when sitting inside the car. This car has only had one owner since it was built and shows just 2,658 kilometers on the odometer. Shortly after acquiring the car, it was completely wrapped in paint protection film which has kept the vehicle scratch free and looking nearly new. With the original Delta Integrale becoming more collectible each year, the Delta Futurista continue to be appreciated for decades to come as the ultimate expression of the model. With only 20 ever produced, these cars rarely come up for sale and this example is in near showroom condition and ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
